About us

Welcome By The Headmaster

A warm welcome to Umhlanga College – a world class independent Christian school that treasures its past, values its present and looks forward with anticipation to its future.

Umhlanga College opened its doors in 2003 and since then has grown rapidly to its present number of 650 pupils spread across our Play Group, Pre-School, Foundation and Intermediate Phases. We also recently opened our High School and now extend the learning experience to include Grade 8.  We shall continue adding a Grade each year until we reach Matric in 2017.

Although Umhlanga College sits on the edge of the rapidly expanding Umhlanga Ridge, it is a school that retains a ‘country’ feel. Set in rolling cane fields, the School provides modern and spacious facilities, where children are allowed to be children while functioning within the parameters of a robust and diverse curriculum and where they are encouraged to achieve the best of which they are capable. We pride ourselves on preparing our children for each consecutive grade and for the rigours, demands and challenges of society in general.

We are committed as a school to providing a balanced education and to recognising and developing the innate potential within each child. To this end we foster academic, sporting and cultural excellence, underpinned by a strong and supportive, pastoral care system.

We are proud of our pupils and of the happy and welcoming atmosphere that exists in our School, thanks to the dedicated input of our faculty of professional teachers and the strong support base provided by our parents.

Vision
